Note: This post was published July 3, 2015. Many of you have asked, so I finally decided to give in--I created a blog! When the Tata cleanser comparison was very much wanted, I thought it would be best for me to have more space to write. I wholeheartedly agree with Caroline Hirons when she mentioned Tata's cleansers were the best on the market right now. My skin is absolutely loving them. Granted, everyone is (always) entitled to their opinion. Before I get started reviewing, you should know a bit about my "skincare philosophy," as I like to call it. I use what works for me. I don't believe in buying something just to buy it. I don't believe in buying something to take a picture. When my skin feels good, I feel good. I have always loved taking care of my skin; as I'm very fair, everything is simply more noticeable and sensitive. Water intake and SPF take you a long way. Beauty to me is having a glow that comes from within. Makeup will always be secondary, and I'm rarely wearing more than tinted moisturizer, blush, and mascara. And lastly, I believe everyone is capable of having a healthy routine. I mix and match between less expensive and more high end, but at the end of the day, I think spending a bit of extra money on your face is worth it. Skin type: I am slightly sensitive and slightly oily, prone to hormonal/stress congestion, and can get dehydrated if I'm not careful. On to Tata! I will do these in the order I acquired them: 1. Regenerating Cleanser- This is the "scrub" of the bunch. Via Sephora, this cleanser is a "gentle, daily exfoliating cleanser that acts as a four-in-one product to purify, minimize the appearance of pores, improve glow, and protect skin's natural hydration balance." I would not use this cleanser every day. I know many people do not prefer scrubby cleansers nowadays, but this is what I reach for when I do feel like I need manual exfoliation. I definitely feel like I get a deep clean, and it always gives me an instant glow boost. All of the ingredients, being Tata, are completely naturally derived/organic. The texture comes from the apricot seed powder, pomegranate enzymes get in to clean and clear your pores, willow bark extract (natural salicylic acid) fights your spots/clears/reduces inflammation and redness, and french pink clay is the base. Someone asked what it smelled like at some point...Fresh, upscale, fruit loops. Not kidding. If you are only looking to purchase one Tata cleanser, I don't know if I would reach for this one first; however, if you're a "scrub" fan, go for it. I apply to dry skin to massage, mix water in to lather, and take off with a washcloth. Super sensitive skins be careful with this one.
2. Purifying Cleanser- My favorite cleanser right now, hands down. Via Sephora, this cleanser is a "hydrating cleanser that combats the daily wear and tear of environmental exposure and pollution by effectively clearing pores of excess oil, dead skin, and buildup." A dream for oily/combo, but honestly, I think everyone should give this one for a try. Again, all of her cleansers contain clinical grade essential oils, which might irritate super sensitive skins. However, I'm slightly sensitive and irritated by many things--this works great for me. Regardless, patch test before purchasing. Contains three deep cleaning, proven clays + purifying sugars, broccoli extract, and fruit enzymes. It is a clay-based gel that gives a deep clean without stripping you of moisture. Afterwards, you feel refreshed, hydrated, and most importantly, sufficiently cleansed. I massage this in, let it sit for 2 minutes or so, mix and massage with water, and take off with a cool washcloth. Feels wonderful. Side note: this does sting my eyes, but I'd never use this cleanser to take off makeup so it's not a problem. It has been great for the warmer months, although I'm sure I'll continue use indefinitely. This is the one I recommend most frequently. 3. Refreshing Cleanser- I'll keep this one short and sweet. Basically, this is the regenerating cleanser without the apricot seed powder. It's lush, gentle, smooth, and creamy. Formulated for sensitive skins. Lately, I've been reaching for this in the morning and the purifying as my second cleanse in the evenings. It smells lovely, feels even better. Like the other cleansers, I start this out on dry skin and massage in to activate the enzymes (re: Tata's suggestion). Once mixing with water, you get creamy goodness. Take off with a washcloth. As one should infer, this is less "detoxifying" than the purifying cleanser. 4. Nourishing Oil Cleanser- While it says it can be used for makeup removal, I would not use this to take off makeup. I would not use any of her cleansers to take off makeup; if you look at the quality of these ingredients, I promise you want them cleansing your skin and not taking off your SPF and tinted moisturizer. This is the newest addition to my Tata collection. Via Sephora, this cleanser "purifies with a silky blend of biocompatible oils and esters while helping to condition skin with beta carotene, vitamins A, C, and E, lycopene, and omega 3. It softens for improved texture and leaves a refreshed, non-greasy feeling. Ideal for dry skin types, it provides a perfect, smoothed surface for makeup application." While I have been using and loving Tatcha's Pure Camellia Cleansing Oil, the ingredients in this formula are amazing: rosehip oil (repairing, nourishing, high level of Vitamin A), sachi inchi oil (one of the best sources of omega 3/6/9), and ployglycerol-4 oleate (olives, break down surface level oils, create milky texture). A couple of years ago, I never thought I would be one to use a oil cleanser on my face. Nowadays, even in warmer weather, they are the first thing I reach for when I'm feeling dehydrated, or even *too* oily. As a basic chemistry lesson, like-attracts-like, which means that oils attract oils. Your face will thank you. Not only will it fix your oiliness, it will repair and nourish your skin. This cleanser is like taking a multivitamin. Silky smooth. Combines with water to create a milky fluid to remove. All of these cleansers are soap free and are not stripping. They are deep cleansing. As someone who is highly critical of what my skin looks like (I should be kinder to myself), I have noticed a big difference since I began using Tata cleansers and products overall. My skin just really loves them. They are beautiful. If a full ingredient list is desired, visit Tata Harper's or Sephora's website. If you have any comments / side notes / questions / need help choosing, feel free to send me an email!

Great review. Your skin sounds very similar to mine. If you could only have 3 cleansers, one to remove makeup and two to switch between for a second cleanse, what would they be.?

This is quite the question! Makeup remover would be Caudalie's gentle cleansing milk. Second cleansers would be Tata purifying and Tatcha pure camellia oil (too high quality for makeup removal). I'd mix and match the purifying with Ren's clarifying clay cleanser though to make it last longer :)
